In 2019, we began working with Weiqidian. This meant more to HOLYPro than "gaining another partner"—it was the first time we handed off design and implementation to two teams that were each better at their own thing.
Why each other
HOLYPro's strength has always been design: how to translate a company's identity into the typography, color, and rhythm of a page. Weiqidian's strength is technical implementation: turning design files into systems that run reliably and can be maintained over the long term.
The two sides complement each other perfectly. After we started working together, we no longer had to compress our design ideas to accommodate technical limitations, nor compromise on implementation quality to meet deadlines.
What we hammered out
The collaboration wasn't smooth at first. The fidelity of design files, the reusability of components, the maintenance cost of redesigns—all these details had to be aligned between the two sides, over and over. Through this process, our designers gained a more realistic sense of "what can actually be built," and the technical team developed a finer sense of "what users see."
This mutual understanding eventually made its way into the product: a website-building system that can produce beautiful pages while also letting clients maintain them on their own.
Looking ahead
The collaboration continues. We put more of our energy into design and user experience, and leave the iteration of system capabilities to those who are better at it.
This is also how we've always done things: we don't try to do everything ourselves—we only try to make sure that what finally reaches the client's hands is good.
