Revisiting a Decade: We Organized 347 Articles and Re-Read Ourselves

We took some time to reread the 347 articles successively published on the official website since 2016: what to keep, what to let go, and the answers this organizing brought us about content and time.

For some time, we did something rather unremarkable: we reread and reorganized all 347 articles that HOLYPro had published on its official website since 2016. It doesn't carry the weight of a product launch, but it allowed us, for the first time, to lay out everything written over the past decade completely on the table.

347 articles, a timeline

Ten years, 347 articles—on average, roughly one every ten days. Lined up by year, they are almost the annual rings of this company: what it was pondering, what it cared about, what it was eager to prove in any given year, all hidden in the titles and between the lines.

The early articles were raw, like a young newcomer cautiously explaining the industry as he saw it; the middle years were the densest and most hurried, when the speed of output briefly outpaced the speed of thinking; the writing of the past two years has instead slowed down, willing to spend the space to explain one thing thoroughly rather than rush to a conclusion.

We originally just wanted to clean up a batch of outdated content, but as we worked, we realized this wasn't cleanup—it was looking back.

Rereading is an honest review

The process of reorganizing was not always pleasant. In what was written over the past decade, the good and the lacking are equally obvious.

We saw quite a few pieces worth keeping—those that explained principles clearly, helped readers solve specific problems, and still hold up years later; we also saw things that needed correcting: the same topic written about repeatedly, titles chasing hot topics that lost their meaning soon after, numbers cited without sources, and in some writing, the desire for self-expression overshadowed sincerity toward the reader.

These pieces were not simply deleted. Instead, they were rewritten one by one, or honestly set aside. Admitting that something wasn't written well enough and making it better—that matters more than maintaining an image of being "always right."

What remains is what we truly believe

By the end, about three-quarters of the content was kept. Looking at what remained, we notice they share one thing in common: most discuss things unrelated to time—why a protocol is designed this way, what a concept actually means, and how to answer the questions customers truly ask again and again.

What was set aside was often another category: highly time-sensitive trend-chasing topics, titles written for traffic, and various overdone self-promotion.

This actually answers a question we are often asked: what kind of content is worth writing? Our answer has become simpler than it was ten years ago—write what you believe will still hold true ten years from now.

Treat content as an asset

What HOLYPro has been doing over the years is turning websites, mini-programs, content, and data, little by little, into digital assets that grow in the enterprise's own hands and can be continuously operated. After completing this reorganization, we have a more concrete understanding of the word "asset."

Content is one of the most easily overlooked and yet most time-resistant kinds of assets. It doesn't produce immediate results like an ad campaign, but it will still be read many years later—found through search, cited by others, rediscovered by a new generation of readers. The ways people search are changing, and the entry points through which people get information are changing, but one thing hasn't changed: only content that is true, accurate, and stands up to rereading deserves such a long life cycle.

Assets need to be organized, maintained, and need someone willing to spend the time looking through them from the inside out. That is exactly what we did this time.

347 articles are not a full stop, just a mark on the scale. We will keep writing, only now we are clearer than before: why we write, for whom, and what is worth keeping.

Ten years is not the end. The truly important content is still ahead.
