Association Website Development Case Study: An Online Exhibition Hall Where Brush and Ink Carry a Millennium

In the mounting of calligraphy and paintings, there is a saying that paper lasts a thousand years. The reputation of an association is much the same—once established, it endures for thirty years. The industry website of the China Calligraphy and Painting Collectors Association has gone live, and its online exhibition hall was designed and developed by the HOLYPro team.

Customers and Tasks

Founded on October 25, 1995, the China Calligraphy and Painting Collectors Association is a national first-class professional social organization approved and registered by the Ministry of Civil Affairs (Social Organization Certificate No. 3279), voluntarily formed by calligraphy and painting collectors, connoisseurs, theorists, and calligraphy, painting and seal engraving artists. The Industry Network is the Association's online base, designed and developed by HOLYPro, with the mission of bringing thirty years of artist resources into the exhibition hall.

PC and mobile homepage

First screen: vortex of the scroll

The opening screen begins with a photo wall of artists—portraits arranged in rows and columns, with veterans and newcomers side by side; below is a large surreal ink-wash scroll image, in which the long scroll of calligraphy and painting whirls into a vortex, giving traditional subject matter contemporary expressive power. The original cover image is exactly this visual.

Key visual for brand identity

Exhibitions, Artists, and Trustees

"Online Exhibition" unfolds as a series of themed cards with gold text on a red background—the online calligraphy and painting exhibition celebrating the 76th anniversary of the founding of the PRC is displayed installment by installment; "Artists" presents association members in grid cards, with names and works each in their proper place; the closing screen, "Brush and ink carry a thousand years, painting and calligraphy gather all phenomena," brings it to a close, with council member units and footer information complete.

Full-page website design

Paper lasts a thousand years.

The biggest fear for an association's official website is that it turns into a stagnant pool. HOLYPro's approach is to make "exhibitions" a continuously updated section—calligraphy and painting exhibitions posted one after another, artists' names listed one by one, so the website becomes the association's memory carrier. This is also why we run the official website as a digital asset.

Paper can last a thousand years, and pages must also stand up to being leafed through.
